Crashes, will not load.

There is no excuse worth listening to for this awful app. They clearly did NO beta testing, and now dont care enough to fix. It simply WILL NOT load. Nothing I do will correct it. Flying isnt that great a magazine anyway. I want my money back. Will I get it? HA!

From Bad To Worse......

Optimistic despite poor reviews, I downloaded the app over a year ago. Frustration built month after month of "bug fixes" that exacerbated the problems. Crash, Bam, Boom #%^*+ went the App, each and every time. Desperate for it to work, I persevered, even canceling my magazine subscription after 20 years of customer loyalty, hoping, the "fixes" would finally live up to the hype. Well, you win Madam Bug, I give up after over a year of frustration. I am canceling the app and going back to a paper subscription....just a HORRIBLE app. The worst I have encountered.

Why pay twice..

I have print subscription for over 35 yrs. so why pay twice to get digital version?

Almost unbelievably bad...

Its really disturbing and ironic that people who are flying airplanes around using iPads cannot create a working app. Like a number of other reviewers, Ive purchased a number of magazines that I cant read now because the app wont open, no matter what. This app has had numerous and ongoing and serious problems. Why cant they fix them?

When it works

When it works I really like it. I dont do paper magazines anymore. The download has been flaky (slow or not at all) the last few issues. With iOS 7 and the latest version the current issue is stuck at Downloading.... I tried a full delete and re-install. When a pilot wants to read Flying Magazine, he wants to read it now ;-) Amended review: The November issues now downloads. It seems if you wait a few days AFTER the download button is available you can get the issue. This is still frustrating.

Terrible unstable app

Usually I rate on quality of a working app, but I would think that after almost 2 years they could rewrite this app to actually consistently work. Rarely does it restore purchases correctly and then when it finally shows the issues available for download the button doesnt work or it turns gray and indicates a spinning progress circle but never does anything. I have reinstalled 3 times. I have followed their FAQ for troubleshooting. Ive emailed customer service in the past and it takes days to get a response. Just dont understand how they havent ditched the app and rewritten it from the ground up. So frustrating.

Pestering App

Lousy, I have a subscription to magazine and this Ipad app (which I do not want) keeps appearing.

Awful APP. Do not purchase. Since I purchased the digital subscription I have had virtually no success in downloading any of the monthly magazines without being asked to either pay for another year or that particular month. Don Krstich

Too big.

This magazine takes too long to download. It also takes up too much memory. 500MB Sorry, but I need my time, bandwidth and memory for other things. Im sorry, but Im canceling my subscription.

Awful, awful

Its a shame because I love the publication, but the app itself is a peice of garbage. I cant tell you how many times my subscription just dissapears and it wants me to pay again. Save your money and go to barnes and noble and buy the hard copy. Its cheaper in the end.

Not Worth The Frustration!

I like Flying Magazine in terms of the content that it offers and had subscribed to the paper version for years. Changing to the iPad version was a HUGE MISTAKE!. First if you subscribe by any other method outside of the app itself, you have a 50/50 chance of getting the app to accept your subscription. I took advantage of a special price from an email received and couldnt get the app to acknowledge my subscription. Multiple password resets and download attempts failed. I tried several contacts to Bonnier to get the app working and only ended up with a headache. The app is all but useless. If you like the mag, stick to the paper version because this app is not worth the frustration!

Terrible

Stay away from Flying Digital. Every time I access the app, I get an email that says an unknown device is attempting to access your subscription and asks me to enter a special one-time pass code to identify my device. After entering the special pass code several times, I get additional e-mails from Flying with different special pass codes. When I finally successfully identify the device and login, I am unable to download the latest issue. E-mails to Flyings customer service receive no response.

Another awful, backward step by Flying

Yet another hasty release of a poorly tested version of Flying. By updating my Flying app, the most recent issue is May 2014; its August 7th as I write this! My paid-for June, July and August issues have also be deleted from my library and cannot be downloaded. Thanks Bonnier! Wont be renewing my subscription.

Where are my issues?

I hate this archive app and new issues app crap, cant you be practical like we pilots are? Return my issues and stop trying to be complicated, you cant launch new services without testing, imagine if we did that in aviation. This review is from August 9, 2014.

What did I pay for?

Where did my subscription go?! I paid to get the digital versions, and now suddenly I dont have access to them because my account is invalid. And "forgot my password" is no help because you cant click on anything from that screen! Unless I see an actual fix, I will not be renewing.

No support

Unfortunately just after renewing my subscription I cant access any issues anymore. All calls for help to have the password reset failed so far. Very disappointed about the lack of support.

App does not work

Wow, the new interface is great! I should probably overlook the fact that the update does not work. I have tried repeatedly to reset my password (as required), but none of the new passwords have worked... Believe me, Ive tried. No, I did not include the quotes. Yes, I did match the case. One star is overly generous. I have emailed customer support numerous times over the past two days to no avail. The one clueless human response I received directed me to a non-existent Apple support page. This isnt Apples fault. I could read my issues without a problem until the update. Sigh...
